Food Studies Minor

Salve Regina University’s food studies minor examines the causes and effects of food production systems and patterns of food consumption using ideas from fields like humanities and social sciences. Food systems are shaped by values and often show social and economic inequalities that connect with Salve's mission.
The program is designed to be student-driven. You’ll work with faculty to develop an interdisciplinary curriculum that complements your field of study.
Anyone can be food insecure and need help. If you’ve never done it before, it can be so hard to try to ask for help. When I do my work, I feel like I’m living out the mercy mission in whatever way I can, just helping those who need it.
