Boo's who?
Happy Halloween, Seahawks! Do you think you could guess these faculty and staff in their costumes?
By student writer Ava Ayotte '27
#1 Garden gnome
This garden gnome knows his way around a balance sheet better than a flower bed. This cheerful economist teaches a course on international finance and is an expert in Rhode Island economics. Did you know he is the reigning champion of the business department's Halloween costume contest?
#2 Blanche
Who knew Blanche from "The Golden Girls" works in Salve's business department? When she's not with her girls Dorothy, Rose and Sophia, she's usually teaching a marketing class or lecturing about Taylor Swift's business and economics strategies.
#3 Batman
This crimefighter loves engaging with students and attending lots of campus events. When the Bat-Signal shines, he comes running. When someone shakes a bag of treats, he runs even faster. This caped crusader spends his days protecting students from bad vibes and perhaps a rogue squirrel or two.
#4 Karl Marx
Did you know that Karl Marx actually works in the cultural, environmental and global studies department? When they're not leading revolutionary movements, they're usually teaching social theory or women and gender studies. No word yet on whether they believe in redistributing extra credit.
#5 Lobster
This lobster is anything but shellfish. When she's not roaming the ocean floor, she's spending her days supporting students, celebrating the community and making regular appearances on Salve's Instagram. With a schedule this packed, it's a wonder she has time to molt.
#6 Astronaut
One small step for man, one giant leap for film studies. This astronaut spends his days teaching everything from Hitchcock thrillers to video game worlds and witches in American literature. Talk about courses that are out of this world!
#7 Carl Fredricksen
This Carl Fredricksen knows a thing or two about reaching new heights. Armed with a few balloons, a grumpy attitude and an impressive three-year winning streak in his department's costume contest, he's proving that adventure and bragging rights are out there.
#8 Fisherman
This fisherman has been casting her line at Salve for nearly 50 years, and we'd say she's reeled in quite the legacy. She's even got an academic building named after her!
#9 Wonder Woman
This Wonder Woman doesn't need superhuman strength to save the day. With over 20 recreational and club sports offerings to oversee, she's already got her hands full. Between intramurals, fitness classes and outdoor adventures, even the Justice League would struggle to keep up.
#10 Rudolph
Rudolph the red-nosed assistant teaching professor and chair! This reindeer has a passion for making sure education students feel fully prepared and confident when they enter their careers.
Happy Halloween, Salve!
