Collegiate Recovery Program

Salve Regina University's collegiate recovery program fosters a welcoming, supportive campus community where students can pursue recovery, strengthen their well-being and thrive academically, socially and personally.

Recovery is unique to each person. It's an ongoing process of change through which individuals improve their health and wellness, live self-directed lives, and strive to reach their full potential.

We honor all pathways to recovery and recognize that there is no one-size-fits-all approach. Through peer support, wellness education, recovery resources and substance-free social activities, we cultivate connection, belonging and an environment where students define and pursue their own wellness goals.

Whether you are in recovery, exploring what recovery means to you, supporting a friend or loved one, or seeking a more supportive and substance-free campus experience, the collegiate recovery program strives to create a community where everyone feels welcome and supported.

Recovery Is Personal. Community Makes a Difference.

We recognize and respect the many pathways to recovery, which may include clinical treatment, peer support, 12-step and other mutual-aid programs, harm reduction, faith or spirituality-based approaches, medication-supported recovery and other individualized approaches to well-being.

At Salve, we believe that connection, community and belonging can be meaningful parts of the recovery journey. Our goal is to help students find the resources, relationships and opportunities that support their individual paths.

Community Providers and Resources

Funded by the Rhode Island Department of Behavioral Healthcare, Developmental Disabilities and Hospitals, the collegiate recovery program is staffed by professionals who provide guidance, resources and support. It does not offer formal treatment or therapy services and is not a substitute for clinical care for substance use or mental health conditions.
