Religious and Theological Studies Major

Religion and Science Book

At Salve Regina University, our religious and theological studies program invites you to explore life's biggest questions through a global and interdisciplinary lens.

In an age when the direction of our culture is all about data, efficiency, celebrity and power, our department offers students a chance to reflect on spirituality, relationships, community and life's deeper meanings.

Dr. Daniel Cowdin, professor and chair

Our dynamic program delves into the beliefs, histories and ethical systems that shape cultures and societies, offering a well-rounded approach to the world’s religious traditions - including but not limited to Christianity. Whether you're drawn to the philosophical questions of faith, the intersection of religion and social justice or the role of spirituality in today's world, we provide the tools to think critically, engage in meaningful dialogue and broaden your worldview.

For both majors and minors, we offer four optional areas of focus - Christian theology, scripture, ethics and world religions - allowing you to tailor your studies to your interests and career goals.
