Dance Auditions
Students pursuing the dance major must be accepted to the University and audition for acceptance into the dance program. Auditions are not required for students pursuing a minor in dance. Current students who wish to pursue the dance major should contact department chair Lindsay Guarino to gain approval and/or arrange an audition.
Requirements for Prospective Students
To apply for fall admission:
- Apply to Salve using the Common Application and select dance as your major.
- Apply to the dance program.
Once your application to Salve has been submitted, you will receive a login for your student status page, where you can complete the audition form and upload your pre-recorded video. You will be notified of your acceptance to the dance program at the time of admission. Visual and performing arts scholarship recipients will also be notified of their awards at the time of admission.
Auditions must be submitted virtually, or be scheduled in person with the department chair by the supporting materials deadline for each decision plan:
- Early decision and early action I: Nov. 1 application deadline, Nov. 15 supporting materials deadline, Dec. 15 notification
- Early action II: Jan. 5 application deadline, Jan. 15 supporting materials deadline, Feb. 15 notification
- Regular decision: Feb. 1 application deadline, Feb. 15 supporting materials deadline, April 1 notification
Audition Guidelines
Applicants should submit a 2-1/2 to 3 minute video demonstrating two different dance styles that emphasize rhythm, musicality and personal style. Please ensure that your link is shareable (YouTube, Vimeo or Google Drive are all good options) and security settings allow your video link to open immediately. At the beginning of the video, please introduce yourself and credit the composer/music artist and choreographer. After submitting your video, a date and time will be coordinated for a live, virtual interview.

Experience a day in the life of a Salve dance major. Your visit will include a campus tour and a concentrated experience in the dance program. Day of Dance dates for the 2025-2026 academic year will be posted here as they become available.
