Internships

Criminal justice and criminology majors have opportunities to complete internships in both the private and public sectors. Placements include local, state and federal law enforcement agencies, courts and law firms, corrections and supervision, juvenile justice and cybersecurity, with many students offered full-time jobs directly after graduation.
Salve set me up for success by building practical experience via internships. I had the opportunity to intern for Raytheon's cybersecurity unit, which added tremendous value, both technical and non-technical, to my resume. I was fortunate to get a full-time job offer with a consulting company two months before I even graduated.

Internships are essential for personal and professional growth, helping you develop your skills, build your confidence, network with potential employers and make informed career decisions. We support you in connecting with potential internship sponsors and offer interview preparation guidance.
During your internship, you'll receive individual and group mentorship in classroom and online settings, where you'll share your experiences and receive feedback from faculty.
We also host weekly presentations from senior officials in federal, state and local law enforcement as well as civilian sector public safety and security. These sessions provide insight into their organizations, missions and challenges, while also offering advice on how to join their respective agencies and succeed after graduation.
