My research focuses on national identity and conflict. I have published extensively on this topic and am the editor and contributor of "Ethnic Conflict: Religion, Identity and Politics" (2002). In 2011, I served as a Fulbright Scholar to Albania. My most recent work is on Chinese nationalism, published by Nationalities Papers.
