Year Two: Exploration

The second year of the Salve Compass is all about career development fundamentals - identifying your strengths, developing the skills you need for personal and professional success, and discovering how your contributions might make a difference in the world.

From the very beginning it was clear Sophomore Studio was designed with purpose. Every conversation, activity and moment felt meaningful and uplifting and centered on us as students, not just academically, but as people. It reinforced why I chose Salve in the first place; the university truly cares about me as an individual.

Sophomore Studio

Modeled as a professional conference weekend, this one-credit course is a series of engaging workshops and sessions. You’ll dive deep into resume building, interviewing, networking and professional meetings and even get a professional headshot. You can explore graduate school and job search processes, how to find internships, fellowships and research opportunities while you network with career coaches, faculty, alumni and employer representatives throughout the weekend.

Career Odyssey Plan

Recalling the "My Three Salves" project from first year, you’ll use design thinking to create a plan that bridges where you are now to the career you want, identifying milestones, skills, network connections and opportunities that can help get you there.
