What's My Why?
Prior to heading into academia full time, my professional career revolved around clinical health care. I enjoy sharing those experiences with Salve’s pre-health student and alumni community through guidance and support from pre-matriculation to post-graduation. Guiding our students and alumni as they embark on fulfilling and challenging careers as doctors, dentists, veterinarians, physician assistants/associates, physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, optometrists, podiatrists, medical laboratory scientists and more is what motivates me daily.
Professional Experience
At Salve, I use my background in health care to teach courses like Human Anatomy and Human Physiology, along with overseeing and continuously building a biology internship course. Prior to my time at Salve, I worked in private practice as a medical and surgical podiatrist for four years and completed a four-year surgical residency within the UPenn Health System in podiatric surgery while rotating through multiple medical specialties, gaining experience and exposure to many other medical fields and techniques. My first job out of college was in clinical health care at Labcorp as a medical technologist in a cytogenetics lab, evaluating blood, bone marrow and pre-natal samples for chromosomal changes.
