Admitted Transfer Students

Welcome to Salve! This page lists important deadlines, links and resources you’ll need prior to the start of classes. Questions about the specific items listed here should be directed to the contacts on the linked pages. Otherwise, contact the Center for Advising, Career and Life Design at compasscenter@salve.edu for further assistance.

Submit Transcripts/Test Scores

Make sure you’re communicating with the Office of Admissions and the Office of the Registrar for your transfer credits. Your official transfer credit evaluation will be emailed to you roughly two weeks after your acceptance. If you’re currently taking courses, when grades are available, please send your official college transcript to Salve Regina University, Office of Admissions, 100 Ochre Point Ave., Newport, RI 02840. In-progress credits will not be applied to your transcript until it’s received.

Visit the Office of the Registrar’s website for more information.

Financial Aid

All transfer students who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents of the United States are eligible to be considered for financial aid. Please complete the FAFSA to begin the process. Financial aid awards will be emailed and mailed shortly after you’re accepted, if your FAFSA is on file. Please note: If you’re applying for the spring (January) semester, the FAFSA year is the academic year you will be matriculating at Salve.

Visit the Financial Aid website for more information.

Compass Advising and Registration

You’ll work with a Compass advisor from the Center for Advising, Career and Life Design to build your course schedule in alignment with your personal, professional and academic goals. In this meeting, you’ll learn about Salve’s academic experience and receive guidance on what courses you need to keep you on track with graduation requirements.

After you receive your Salve credentials from the Office of Information Technology and your transfer credit evaluation from the Office of the Registrar, you’ll get a welcome email from compasscenter@salve.edu to begin an online advising checklist. Once the checklist is complete, you’ll be invited to schedule a meeting with a Compass advisor to register for classes.

Please note: The University is closed for the holidays between Dec. 24 and Jan. 5.

Student Accessibility Services

Student Accessibility Services ensures that students with disabilities receive appropriate academic and non-academic accommodations or adjustments to participate fully in the University's educational, residential, social and recreational programs.

Specific accommodations and/or adjustments are determined by Student Accessibility Services in consultation with the student and are based upon the disability documentation provided.

Academic accommodations and adjustments may include visual or hearing impairment technology devices, recorded texts or other assistive technology, note-taking support, scribes for exams, ASL interpreters or CART reporters, separate location for exams, extended time for exams, classroom relocation and/or accessible or preferential classroom seating. Non-academic accommodations may include housing accommodations, assistance animals and/or other co-curricular accommodations or adjustments.

Visit the Student Accessibility Services website for more information.

Activate Student Employment

Our student employment program offers opportunities for you to work on or off campus. Matriculated undergraduate students enrolled for at least 12 credits in the semester in which they work are eligible.

Most jobs are only available to students who received a federal work study award as part of their financial aid package, although some specialized, skill-based positions are open to all students regardless of award status. Positions are posted in Handshake one week prior to the start of classes. Once positions have been posted, you can use Handshake to search and apply for student employment positions.

Visit the student employment website for more information.
