What's My Why?

As a retired U.S. military and FBI intelligence officer, I strive to bridge the gap between academic and real-world applications of analytic and public speaking tradecraft standards through student-led projects with our federal and state law enforcement partners designed to maximize experiential learning. In addition, students are actively engaged in their development through hands-on exercises, briefings, classroom discussions and written assignments designed to push students out of their comfort zones to grow as individuals.

Professional Experience

In my role at Salve, I'm a lecturer, internship program coordinator and student advisor. I am also a retired U.S. Army and FBI intelligence officer, certified U.S. Intelligence Community Advanced Analyst Program graduate, and U.S. State Department, National Foreign Affairs Training Center, Foreign Service Institute Urdu and South Asia studies program graduate. My extensive background in U.S. intelligence and national security affairs led me to create a capstone course that maximizes student experiential learning through their working on an intelligence assessment project and formal briefing for a partnering federal or state law enforcement agency. Students are instructed on and apply federal analytical tradecraft standards in answering real-world agency law enforcement-related problems, and, in accordance with U.S. intelligence community standards, produce both a written and formal briefing to senior agency leaders on their findings.
