What's My Why?
I am passionate about providing a learning environment where students can grow and thrive. Focused on criminal psychology, cognitive fitness, resilience and mindfulness, I aim to help students optimize their performance and develop their leadership capacities. Having spent the last 20 years conducting research and analysis in the fields of psychology and criminal justice, I look forward to working with students to explore how these fields intersect.
Professional Experience
I am an adjunct professor teaching Psychological Concepts for Justice Professionals at Salve. I am also an associate professor of psychology and behavioral science in the College of Leadership and Ethics at the United States Naval War College, focusing on the areas of holistic health and well-being, resilience and mindfulness as they relate to leader development. I volunteer as the Rhode Island state director for the Veterans Yoga Project and am a certified positive psychology-based health and well-being coach. Prior to joining the Naval War College in 2021, I worked for more than 15 years in the area of criminal psychology. I have conducted research and analysis for the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit and NCIS Criminal Threat Division, and was a regional team lead for Facebook's global security intelligence and investigations team focusing on terrorism and dangerous organizations.
