What's My Why?
As a proud Salve alumna with nearly two decades of experience working in the public history field, it has been an honor to return to campus as a faculty member. My experiences as an undergraduate at Salve helped shape me into the person, scholar and professional I am today, so having the opportunity to support current students by teaching courses in history and cultural heritage has been an extraordinary privilege for me, both personally and professionally.
Professional Experience
In addition to my role at Salve, I am a public historian specializing in K-12 museum education, historic interpretation and public programs. Over the course of my career, I have held positions at museums and historic sites across New England, including the New England Air Museum, the Springfield Museums, Historic Deerfield, Strawbery Banke Museum, Newport Restoration Foundation and the Newport Historical Society. My work in museum education was awarded by the American Alliance of Museums in 2021, and I recently served as an on-screen expert for the History Channel’s “The Titans That Built America” miniseries. I am also a graduate of the Getty Museum Leadership Institute NextGen program. Outside of my work in public history, I serve on the board of directors for the New England Museum Association, and I lecture on history, cultural heritage and museum studies topics for audiences of all ages.
