Campus Alert
Operations for Wednesday, Feb. 25
- Faculty will offer online classes if they are able to do so given power disruptions in the area. They will reach out with details. Faculty are encouraged to be generous with due dates as some students will need additional time to complete their work. Classes that were scheduled for off-campus activities (clinicals, student teaching, field placements, etc.) for Wednesday are canceled. Operations will be adjusted on a day-by-day basis this week.
- On-campus University offices will move to remote operations. Only essential staff should report to work. All other employees that are scheduled to work are expected to be available and work remotely to the best of their abilities. We acknowledge that the impact of the severe weather event may vary depending on individual circumstances.
Campus Shuttles
Shuttles are running from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. daily, maintaining a continuous loop and stopping at the front door of each residence hall so students can move around campus more easily as work crews continue to move snow and clear paths. Power on Campus
At this time, power has been restored to almost all of campus.
- Hunt-Reefe: The only building that is still being worked on is Hunt-Reefe, however there is a generator providing minimal electrical support in that residence hall with some heat. Salve’s on-staff electrician is working with Rhode Island Energy to repair the service connection. While the work continues, we will provide hotel accommodations starting Tuesday night. Hotel and shuttle information will be shared directly with affected students.
- Wallace Hall: Residents of Wallace Hall will be provided hotel accommodations starting Tuesday night so repairs can begin. Residents will be shuttled to the hotel. Hotel and shuttle information is being shared directly with affected students. Once the repair is completed, we will operate the building without residents for 24 hours, taking air samples periodically, to ensure building systems are operating smoothly.
