Healthcare Administration Major

The need for qualified managers and administrators in the healthcare industry is ever-growing. At Salve Regina University, our bachelor's degree in healthcare administration ensures that graduates develop the business acumen to address changes in the industry and gain a broad understanding of global health, access to care, spread of disease and disease prevention.
Our graduates have motivation, they have drive, they want to change the world. They want to do good. They want to make a difference. They’re entrepreneurial in spirit and they see no boundaries. It’s incredible to watch their enthusiasm and their creativity.

Prepare to Join a Growing Industry
Our program explores the global challenges facing the healthcare industry, including the social, regulatory, ethical and economic issues related to health risk, prevention, policy and services. Students acquire the critical thinking and analytical skills needed to promote decision-making and problem-solving, understand the needs of patients and families, and advocate for change when necessary.
The interdisciplinary focus of Salve’s healthcare administration program focuses on ethical leadership within the context of the University’s mercy tradition of service. Coursework prepares students to create positive change in local and global healthcare, which will enhance healthcare quality and access for all.
Responding to the growing marketplace need for healthcare managers, leaders and administrators, Salve’s interdisciplinary curriculum integrates business knowledge with coursework in healthcare, nursing, social work, sociology and more. In addition, our majors are required to have an internship experience in the field. Students also have the opportunity to earn a certification in healthcare quality from the Institute for Healthcare Improvement.
