Summer Rentals
The summer rental program is an exclusive vacation opportunity offered to Salve alumni. You are invited to stay on our 80-acre oceanside campus to enjoy all that Newport has to offer. Rental opportunities are available in various properties throughout campus.
Details and Requirements for All Rentals
- As a requirement for participating in the summer rental program, you must make an appointment to reconnect with the Office of Alumni and Family Engagement during your stay on campus.
- The summer rental program is available exclusively to Salve alumni who are 28 years of age or older. The alumni must be present and may not rent for other family members or friends.
- At the beginning of the rental period, beds are made up with clean linens and two sets of towels are set out by each bed. Cleaning services are not provided daily, and no other towels are provided.
- All rental units come equipped with DIRECTV, Wi-Fi and laundry facilities at no cost. Rentals are not air-conditioned unless noted otherwise. Renters may bring fans or air conditioners. All utilities are included in the rental fee.
- Each unit is stocked with a set of dishes, mugs and glasses, a set of pots and pans, a set of silverware, cooking utensils, a colander, a toaster, a drip coffee maker and a trash can. Renters are welcome to bring a microwave, gas grill or charcoal grill if they desire. Fire pits, candles, incense and any open flame are prohibited.
- Pets are strictly prohibited.
Rental Periods for 2026
- Monday, June 1 to Tuesday, June 30
- Wednesday, July 1 to Friday, July 31
Check-in begins at 3 p.m. and check-out ends at 10 a.m.
If you are interested in renting one of the listed units for the full season (May 23-Aug. 14), please contact the Office of University Events and Conference Services at (401) 341-2445 or conferences.events@salve.edu. Rental fees for the full season are $20,000 or $24,000.
Munroe Hall
$12,000/month (full-season rentals available for $24,000)
Munroe Hall consists of eight rental suites, all with private bathrooms and air conditioning. Each unit accommodates 2-4 guests in singles and doubles. Located at 70 Shepard Ave. and renovated in 2025, Munroe was originally the carriage house for the Wakehurst estate.
First-Floor Suites
- Suite 101: Four guests (two singles and one double), handicap accessible
- Suite 105: Four guests (two doubles), handicap accessible
- Suite 106: Four guests (two singles and one double)
Second-Floor Suites
- Suite 201: Two guests (one double)
- Suite 202: Four guests (two doubles)
- Suite 203: Two guests (one double)
- Suite 205: Two guests (one double)
- Suite 206: Two guests (one double)
Nethercliffe Main House
$9,000/month (full-season rentals available for $20,000)
Nethercliffe consists of four rental apartments. Each unit accommodates 4-11 guests in doubles and triples. Located at 228 Ruggles Ave., Nethercliffe was built in 1883.
First-Floor Apartments
- Unit 2: Four guests (two doubles), one bathroom
- Unit 3: Seven guests (two doubles and one triple), three bathrooms, no more than five unrelated people permitted
Second-Floor Apartment
- Unit 5: 11 guests (one double and three triples), three bathrooms, no more than five unrelated people permitted
Third-Floor Apartment
- Unit 6: Five guests (one double and one triple), two bathrooms
Nethercliffe Carriage House
$9,000/month (full-season rental available for $20,000)
Nethercliffe Carriage House is a second-floor apartment that accommodates four guests in two singles and one double bedroom, with two bathrooms. Located at 228 Ruggles Ave., the carriage house was built in the 1880s.
Stoneacre Apartments
$9,000/month (full-season rentals available for $20,000)
Stoneacre Apartments consists of five rental apartments. Each unit accommodates 4-5 guests, mostly in double bedrooms. Located at 196 Ruggles Ave., Stoneacre was built in the 1880s.
First-Floor Apartments
- Unit 1: Four guests (two doubles), two bathrooms
- Unit 3: Four guests (two doubles), two bathrooms
Second- and Third-Floor Apartments
- Unit 4: Five guests (one single and two doubles), two bathrooms
