New Seahawk Orientation

New Seahawk Orientation

New Seahawk Orientation is a fun and informative introduction to life at Salve. You'll meet new people, learn about University resources, and explore the campus and Newport community. Signature events include the Newport Immersion and Convocation, along with various evening activities throughout the week.

Please note: New Seahawk Orientation is mandatory for all new students, including commuter and transfer students.

Orientation for Families

We view our relationship with families as a partnership to help every student succeed. Our family orientation is designed to give you the information and resources you need to support your student during their critical first year. Hosted by the Office of Student Engagement and other campus partners, the day will include helpful sessions designed to welcome you to Salve, answer your questions and prepare you and your student for the college experience.

Our orientation program for families is not mandatory, but you're strongly encouraged to participate. During family orientation, you can attend information sessions and a resource fair, help your student move in to their residence hall, and attend a family social along with our traditional welcome and blessing ceremony.

Students are billed a $325 fee for New Seahawk Orientation. As part of this fee, they may bring up to two family members to participate in orientation.
