The Office of Residence Life is committed to fostering a living community that values diversity, promotes the dignity of all people, and is welcoming, safe and inclusive. To honor this commitment, we offer gender inclusive housing for first-year students.
Gender inclusive housing is a housing option in which two or more students share the common areas of a multiple-occupancy apartment, suite or residence hall room regardless of their sex assigned at birth, gender, gender identity or gender expression.
Transgender people living in New England (Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island or Vermont) seeking to update their legal name and gender on federal and state documents can receive free legal representation through GLAD's Transgender ID Project. To register, visit glad.org/ID, call (800) 455-GLAD or email email@example.com.
For information about changing names in other states, visit the National Center for Transgender Equality website.
