Dean of Students
In collaboration with offices and departments across campus, the Dean of Students Office serves, supports, and empowers students and other members of the Salve Regina community to promote student success. When contacting our office, students can expect to have an answer to their question, a solution to their problem, or an effective referral to the office or professional who can answer their question.
Our office supports students in resolving educational, personal, and other university concerns that affect the quality of their academic and community life. We have a strong commitment to fostering student development, and help prepare our students for responsible lives.
The programs that are directly overseen by the Dean of Students Office include:
- Behavioral intervention team

Student Conduct Hearing Board
Helping to uphold the University's student code of conduct is one of the most thought-provoking and rewarding ways students can serve their community. The Dean of Students Office sees the value and importance of student input on community expectations. Student conduct hearing board members conduct non-adversarial hearings for alleged violations of the code of conduct. The chief justice of the Student Government Association oversees hearings along with five board members. A full board consists of 15 members to ensure there are at least five members available for set hearing times.
Students who serve on the Student conduct hearing board must have earned at least 15 credits and maintain a 2.5 cumulative GPA. Having a previous conduct record does not necessarily preclude a student from serving on the student conduct hearing board. These decisions are made at the discretion of the Dean of Students Office. Training takes place each September.
Salve Regina offers MyStudentBody as part of its Orientation/First Year Transitions program. Through online courses about alcohol, drugs and other addictive substances, MyStudentBody aims to increase students’ knowledge, decrease harmful behaviors and provide information to help students make good decisions.

Alcohol eCHECKUP TO GO
Alcohol eCHECKUP TO GO is an interactive web program that allows students to enter information about their drinking patterns and receive immediate, personalized feedback about their alcohol use. It takes about 20-30 minutes to complete, is self-guided and requires no face-to-face contact with a counselor.
When you access Alcohol eCHECKUP TO GO, you are prompted to enter information about yourself, such as drinking habits, etc. After all information has been entered, Alcohol eCHECKUP TO GO calculates a number of variables and compares your responses to national and local college norms. Then your personalized feedback is displayed in an easy-to-read format.
