What's My Why?
My background in psychology and education has motivated me to contribute to revisions of Salve's core education on multiple occasions and to be involved in experiential learning and serving opportunities for students. Some of my most profound experiences have been student service trips to Nicaragua and West Virginia and in the Salve Compass’ Oliver Hazard Perry tall ship program, where I frequently volunteer. I am president of the Nick Vuono Charity Fund, serving residents in the Westerly-Bradford (Rhode Island) communities who live with cognitive, developmental, emotional or physical challenges. I am lay leader in the North Kingstown United Methodist Church, leading worship, involved in local and global mission work and being a team member for cooking and serving meals for those seeking fellowship and food. In teaching and serving, I seek to bring my best self forward as a servant leader for the good of the group.
