Peer Academic Coaching
Academic Center for Excellence
The peer academic coaching program is jointly sponsored by the Academic Center for Excellence and the Center for Advising, Career and Life Design. Peer academic coaches are typically juniors or seniors who are passionate about Salve Regina and about learning.
Coaches offer single appointments or ongoing support throughout the semester. They can help you develop your learning skills and study habits. Coaches are trained and supervised by professional learning specialists and advisors. Coaches cover topics such as:
- Academic persistence
- Growth mindset
- Time management
- Effective study habits
- Note-taking
- Finding and using resources at Salve Regina
If you have questions about majors, classes, departments or academic programs from the student perspective, peer academic coaches can connect you with “expert learners” who can serve as informal resources and help you navigate your major.
