Personal Statement:

I made the decision to go to college because my parents had both been to college and had positive experiences. I also grew up going to football games on a college campus, and as I went through high school, I discovered just how much I loved learning. Between when I committed to college and finished my first year, I had been a journalism major, a business major and an exploratory student. But, after visiting my college's career center and researching majors based on my interests, I chose to major in public relations and English. I still love to communicate with others and read. These majors opened a lot of career paths to me, and I explored a lot of them (like event planning, publishing and corporate PR) through internships and informational interviews. While a lot shifted and changed, my love of school and learning remained. I began my exploration into higher education which led me to graduate school, a career advising position and ultimately Compass advising at Salve Regina.
