Salve Community Rises to the Challenge

Salve Community Rises to the Challenge

It has been a year like no other. To the many alumni, families, friends, foundations, corporations, faculty and staff who so generously donated to the Mercy Emergency Relief Fund in response to the pandemic: Thank you! The outpouring of support has been overwhelming and, with your help, students and families received vital financial assistance to navigate these challenging circumstances. We are especially grateful to our philanthropic partners in the Newport community and beyond, including the Davis Educational Foundation, Alletta Morris McBean Charitable Trust, Providence Journal Charitable Legacy Fund and van Beuren Charitable Foundation for their leadership in assisting with the extraordinary needs and expenses related to the pandemic. As administrators, faculty and staff worked diligently to ensure a safe reopening for the entire campus, our partnerships throughout Rhode Island inspired and strengthened our resolve to welcome students back for the fall semester.

At Salve Regina, we have a special mercy mission that is a particular advantage in the midst of this pandemic, because we believe in service to others. Support of the common good is part of our identity as an institution.

President Kelli J. Armstrong, Ph.D.
