Music Lessons
Music and Music Education
Salve Regina offers three levels of individual instruction, ranging from beginning to advanced. In addition to voice, lessons on many instruments within the western European and American musical culture are available for course credit.
Lessons consist of 14 weekly, one-on-one sessions per semester with a highly qualified instructor. All Salve Regina instructors are active performers in their areas of applied music.
A variety of musical styles are represented among the various lessons. If students are interested in a particular genre, we make every effort to place them with an instructor that specializes in that particular style. The difficulty of the repertoire is based on the level of the technical and musical skills of the individual student.
We offer instruction for the following:
- Bassoon
- Cello
- Clarinet
- Electric bass
- Flute
- Guitar (all styles)
- Harp
- Oboe
- Organ
- Percussion
- Piano
- Saxophone
- String bass
- Trombone
- Trumpet
- Tuba
- Viola
- Violin
- Voice
Due to the one-on-one nature of applied music lessons, there is an additional music fee for individual instruction. We are committed to keeping the fee for individual lessons to a level below that which would be charged for private study outside of the University.
