Salve Regina University continues to break new ground, literally and figuratively, in our efforts to deliver a transformative educational experience for each student. Currently two new structures are beginning to emerge on our oceanside campus. Reference this page to stay informed about construction progress and/or impacts on our campus community and Newport neighbors.

New Residence Hall
Location: Corner of Shepard and Lawrence avenues
Scheduled completion: Fall 2026
May 15 Construction Update
- Construction hours: 7 am to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
- Traffic pattern changes: There are currently no traffic/parking changes. Watch this space for updates.
- A construction fence is currently in place and will be expanded to encompass more of the site by the end of May. The fence will remain around the site until construction is complete.
- Expect increased noise and movement of large construction vehicles and machinery.
- Demolition of the structure at 51 Shepard Ave. began May 7.
- Demolition of 45 Shepard, 26 Lawrence, 80 and 74 Victoria will likely begin the week of May 19.
Garden Pavilion
Location: Interior of campus between Gerety Hall and McKillop Library, Ochre Point Avenue
Scheduled completion: Fall 2026
