Community Service

Salve Regina considers participation in community service a visible way to live the mission of the University. Students are required to serve at least 10 hours within the state of Rhode Island prior to graduation, allowing them to share their talents with those in need and learn more about themselves and the community they call home.

Community service can include working with children or the elderly, volunteering in a sports-oriented atmosphere or in local soup kitchens, helping with food drives, working with animals, tutoring, assisting with environmental projects and more.

The Office of Community Service maintains an extensive inventory of service opportunities and facilitates transportation to service sites. Projects not offered through the Office of Community Service must be approved before they can be considered appropriate for a community service experience.
