Adopt-a-Spot planting days
Spend your lunch break helping the Office of Community Service plant flowers around the fountain in historic Eisenhower Park. The office's Adopt-a-Spot flowerbed will support the Washington Square Advisory Commission's efforts to restore Eisenhower Park and enhance Newport's beauty. Hop on the trolley and come donate an hour of your time to help create this garden.
Planting will take place from noon to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, July 7, Wednesday, July 8 and Thursday, July 9.
Adopt-a-Spot maintenance days
Help care for the Office of Community Service's Adopt-a-Spot garden in Eisenhower Park by donating your time to watering and weeding the flowerbeds. The park is in Washington Square, a quick trolley ride away from Salve Regina. Maintenance days occur 2-3 times per week, so members of the University community are encouraged to consider supporting this initiative on a regular basis.
Maintenance will take place from noon to 1 p.m. on the following days:
- Mondays: July 13, 20 and 27 and Aug. 3, 11, 17 and 24
- Wednesdays: July 15, 22 and 29 and Aug. 5, 12, 19 and 26
