A degree in
religious and theological studies is a classic liberal arts degree that
provides majors with fascinating, versatile and challenging coursework and
gives them the opportunity to read, discuss and write about serious issues. Students
explore the most important aspects of human life, sharpening their liberal arts
skills in the process.
Employers from
both for-profit and nonprofit companies are looking for employees who are
smart, interesting and quick learners. While employees can be taught necessary
technical skills after they are hired, employers want them to have real
exposure to ideas, different world views and the ability to speak, read and
write effectively. This is precisely what the religious and theological studies
degree offers.
Our students
often combine their coursework with a second major, as the major or minor in
religious and theological studies complements many other disciplines. The major
requires 10 courses while the minor requires six, and all students at Salve
Regina complete two religious and theological studies courses through Core
Curriculum requirements.
