While it is not required, students majoring in history
are encouraged to complete a three-credit internship during the spring semester
of their senior year. Students have the opportunity to intern at a variety of
local museums, historical organizations and libraries. Participating students
work a minimum of eight hours per week under the direction of their supervisor.
Internships have included:
- International Tennis Hall of Fame
- Middletown Historical Society
- Naval War College museum and archives
- Newport Historical Society
- Preservation Society of Newport County
- Redwood Library and Athenaeum
- Salve Regina special collections and archives
