Dear Salve Regina community,
The temporary quarantine of a second-floor wing in Miley Hall has been extended until Thursday, Nov. 12 after two additional cases of coronavirus were detected from first-round testing. Students who are residents of that wing will be tested again on Thursday, Nov. 12 to determine when the temporary quarantine can be lifted.
All positive individuals and direct contacts have been isolated. Residents have been notified of the extended temporary quarantine, and students living in the adjacent second floor wing of Miley Hall will also be tested on Monday and Tuesday out of an abundance of caution. Should testing be considered necessary for other residents of Miley Hall, these students will be emailed directly.
Salve Regina personnel are closely monitoring these developments. Anyone considered to be a close contact of a positive individual will be notified directly by the University.
As indicated previously, it is important to remain vigilant regarding mask-wearing, hand-washing, social distancing and cleaning surface areas around you. If you are in an enclosed location with individuals you do not live with, you should wear a mask. You should also be wearing a mask in all common spaces and in outdoor public spaces.
We will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available or through our standard weekly update schedule on Tuesday afternoon.
