VA Nursing Academy professor Sandra Shaw presents public lecture on March 5

Sandra Shaw, a Veterans Administration Nursing Academy faculty member, will present a public lecture on “Female Veterans: What They Want Their Healthcare Providers to Know” on Thursday, March 5 at 6 p.m. at Salve Regina University.

Shaw’s lecture, to be presented in Bazarsky Lecture Hall, located in O’Hare Academic Center on Ochre Point Ave., is part of the Care of Veterans Lecture Series hosted by Salve Regina’s department of nursing.

The event has been approved for 1 contact hour by Northeast Multistate Division (NE-MSD). Northeast Multistate Division (NE-MSD) is accredited as an approver of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

Shaw teaches public health nursing with an emphasis on the care of veterans and their families. Formerly Health Services Coordinator for the Women’s Center of Southeastern Connecticut, she has helped providers develop their capacity for screening and responding to individuals living with domestic violence.
