Mackubin Thomas Owens to present public lecture on 'American Foreign Policy: Prudence and Principles'
Mackubin Thomas Owens, professor at the Institute for World Politics in Washington, D.C. and senior fellow of the Foreign Policy Research Institute, will present a public lecture on “American Foreign Policy: Prudence and Principles” at Salve Regina University on Monday, April 20.
Presented by Salve’s department of political science, the talk is free and open to the public. Owens’s lecture will be presented at 6:30 p.m. in Bazarsky Lecture Hall, located in O’Hare Academic Center on Ochre Point Avenue. It will be followed by a Q&A period.
Owens, who is editor of the quarterly journal Orbis, recently retired as professor of National Security Affairs at the U.S. Naval War College. He has a long record of distinguished academic service, having authored, co-authored, and edited a number of scholarly books and scholarly articles on politics and national security. He has also been published in numerous prominent newspapers.
Owens was a Marine infantry platoon and company commander in Vietnam in 1968-1969, and was awarded the Silver Star.
