Emmy award-winning sports broadcaster Jennifer Royle returns to Salve Dec. 3

NEWPORT, R.I. – Jennifer Royle, Emmy award-winning sports broadcaster and 1996 Salve Regina graduate, will share her experiences in sports broadcasting when she returns to her alma mater on Tuesday, Dec. 3, at 11 a.m. in Room 260 in the O’Hare Academic Center, 100 Ochre Point Ave.

Royle’s talk, free and open to the public, is sponsored by the university’s English department in conjunction with the English communications major.

Royle is currently the co-host of “Sports Town,” a sports radio talk show on the Boston Herald’s new radio station. She is also a sports columnist for the newspaper and this year started her own company,, which provides news, video, and feature stories about the Boston Red Sox.

Before returning to Boston, Royle covered the Baltimore Ravens, Baltimore Orioles, and Washington Nationals as a field reporter for WJZ-FM. Earlier in her career, she covered Major League Baseball for the Yes Network in New York City.
