Anthony Mangieri presents public lecture on ‘The Arts of Dress in Greek Vase-Painting’
Anthony Mangieri, assistant professor of art history at Salve Regina, will present a public lecture, “Makron and the Secrets of Eleusis: The Art of Dress in Greek Vase-Painting” on Wednesday, April 29 from 6-7 p.m.
Free and open to the public, Mangieri’s lecture will be presented in DiStefano Lecture Hall, located in the Antone Academic Center on Lawrence Avenue.
Mangieri’s research specializes in Greek and Roman art and architecture, particularly on Greek vasepainting, iconography, Classical mythology, dress and adornment, and issues of gender and sexuality in the ancient world.
He has his Ph.D. in art history from Emory University, his master’s degree in art history from Hunter College and his bachelor’s degree in Modern Languages from Pace University.
