May 14 - To the Class of 2020: Mask guidance for Commencement weekend

Dear Class of 2020 graduates and families,

We are excited to celebrate your achievements this weekend and we look forward to welcoming you and your loved ones back to campus.

As you know, the CDC has just updated its guidance, noting that "fully vaccinated people can resume activities without wearing a mask or physically distancing, except where required by federal, state, local, tribal or territorial laws, rules and regulations."

While this is welcome news, please note that both Rhode Island and Salve Regina’s mask mandates remain in effect. As a result, masks must be worn at all times while on campus (even outdoors), and all graduates and guests are asked to follow the established social distancing guidelines of at least three feet. If you do not wish to wear a mask within the Commencement area, you are free to watch the ceremony virtually from another location.

Thank you in advance for adhering to our guidelines in order to ensure the health and safety of our University community.
