May 1 - To staff: Telecommuting beyond May 8

I hope this finds you and your families healthy and safe. As we approach the anticipated date of May 8 for Gov. Raimondo to lift orders to stay at home and begin a phased reopening of the state, I want to ensure that those employees currently telecommuting are aware that they should continue to do so until further notice.

Given the uncertainties of timing related to the phased re-opening, it is difficult for us to know exactly when Salve Regina will be allowed to welcome all employees back to campus. Please be assured that we will communicate this date with as much notice as possible, as it will be based on several factors, including guidance from the Rhode Island Department of Health and the governor.

Also, please be assured that as we navigate the ever-changing circumstances around us, we recognize that distance learning in K-12 schools will continue through June and that child care and other family responsibilities remain a concern for many.

As always, should you have any questions please feel free to contact me directly at

Thank you for all you continue to do.
