March 23 - Important move-out information

Dear resident students,

Greetings from Salve Regina. We hope that you and your families are well and safe during these challenging times.

We'd like to share with you the process we have put in place for picking up your belongings. The schedule was thoughtfully created in order to allow for social distancing and to limit gatherings on campus. We realize that some of you are navigating new travel restrictions in your states, so the process below may not work for you at this time. Please know that we will be flexible to your needs.

Residents will sign up for their date to move out using MyHousing. You will be able to sign up for a day to move out between Wednesday, March 25 and Sunday, April 19. Given the goal of limiting groups on campus, we have set a limit on the number of people moving out on a given day. If the limit has been reached, that day will no longer be available in the drop-down menu and you will need to select another available date.

Click here for instructions to sign up for your appointment time.

Your ID card will be activated for your residence hall on the day you selected between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. You will proceed directly to your room and collect your belongings. If you have any questions while you are moving out, call the Office of Residence Life at (401) 341-2210 or your area coordinator and we will assist you. After moving out, if you reside in a space that utilizes keys, bring them to Safety and Security, place them into the provided envelope and drop them into the express checkout box before departing campus.

Please note that the schedule or appointments may be adjusted as needed based upon developing events or direction from the Rhode Island Department of Health.

As you depart campus, we ask that you remove all trash to the outdoor dumpsters and containers available at each residence hall. There will be donation boxes in common areas if you would like to help those in the local community in need by donating non-perishable food items, clothing or household items. Learn more about items you can donate.

Some of you might be concerned about making the trip to get your belongings. If that is the case, you also have the option to come to campus during exam week, May 11-15. If you are choosing this option, please email

If you have any questions do not hesitate to reach out. We realize that this is stressful for you and want to be as helpful as possible.

Be safe and healthy,

Jim Mournighan
Director of Residence Life
