March 17 - To Staff: Temporary Telecommuting

In light of concerns surrounding COVID-19 and the state and federal governments' recent declarations of states of emergency, Salve Regina University has decided to temporarily offer all employees – to the extent they are capable of performing their duties remotely – the option to telecommute through April 13, 2020. Employees interested in telecommuting should inquire about it with their supervisors.

Telecommuting is not mandatory, it is one of the options available to ensure proper social distancing. All supervisors were provided with information earlier today to aid in the assessment of how telecommuting would impact their operations while the University transitions to a more virtual environment.

These are unique circumstances, and Salve reserves its right to discontinue or modify this policy at any time.

For additional details and to access supporting documentation related to telecommuting, please visit The additional documentation will include the following:

  • Terms and Conditions of Temporary Telecommuting
  • Temporary Telecommuting Agreement.

Please work with your supervisor to submit signed documents as soon as possible. The documents provided were developed with Adobe digital signatures. Please open the file with Adobe Acrobat DC to utilize the digital signature function.

As communicated in an earlier email, Salve Regina’s Office of Information Technology is prepared to address any technical concerns associated with telecommuting. Using personal computers or laptops for University business is generally discouraged with the exception of accessing Office365 and/or Canvas LMS. O365 and Canvas can be accessed securely using an up to date browser (Google Chrome preferred) from any computer with internet access.

Requests for University-configured loaner computers can be made with supervisor approval through the Technology Services Center at
