July 20 - To graduate students: Vaccine reminder for graduate students

Dear Salve Regina graduate students,

As previously communicated, to protect our most vulnerable community members and ensure a fall semester that is free of most COVID-19 restrictions, Salve Regina is requiring the COVID-19 vaccine for the 2021-2022 academic year.

The vaccine mandate applies to graduate students who are taking in-person classes and/or need to access campus facilities during the academic year. This includes students who are participating in the nursing colloquium or humanities residency this fall.

Graduate and RN-BSN students who are fully online and have no need to access campus do not need to submit proof of vaccination.

Students are asked to submit proof of vaccination by Aug. 1. To submit your vaccination record:

  • Log in to the student health portal with your Salve Regina credentials.
  • In the "My Forms" menu at the top of the page, select and complete the "COVID vaccination form."

Your vaccination record must show that you received one dose of Janssen (J&J) or both doses of Moderna or Pfizer. A WHO-approved vaccine is acceptable for international students.

Individuals with valid medical or religious reasons for not receiving the vaccine may seek an exemption. Requests for exemptions should be submitted to Health Services by Aug. 1. Completed and signed forms should be uploaded to the COVID-19 vaccine form on the student health portal.

Under current state guidelines, individuals who are vaccinated are exempted from regular COVID-19 testing and campus mask requirements. Non-vaccinated individuals will be required to undergo regular testing and wear a mask whenever they are in public spaces on campus, including classrooms and offices. More information on our fall testing program will follow in a later update.
