Jan. 29 - To the Salve Regina community: Temporary quarantine in Miley Hall

Dear Salve Regina community,

Out of an abundance of caution, the University is temporarily quarantining the first-floor wing of Miley Hall and testing all affected students due to potential exposure to the coronavirus. Students who are identified as close contacts of a recent positive case will complete the mandatory 10-day quarantine, while all other students will remain in quarantine until they receive negative test results.

Bathroom facilities have been cleaned, and common areas are also in the process of being disinfected. Should other residents of Miley need testing, they will be notified via email. This is not considered necessary at this time.

It is important to remain vigilant regarding mask-wearing, hand-washing, social distancing and cleaning surface areas around you. If you are in an enclosed location with individuals you do not live with, you should wear a mask. You should also be wearing a mask in all common spaces and in outdoor public spaces.

As a reminder, while resident students may visit other campus residences, room occupancy is limited to double the room residency and students must wear masks when socializing with guests. Code of conduct violations will initiate the formal conduct process by the Dean of Students Office.

We will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available or through our standard weekly update schedule on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays.
