Rhode Island Higher Education Training Consortium
Through Salve Regina's membership in the Rhode Island Higher Education Training Consortium, employees have access to low-cost, workshop-style professional development opportunities facilitated by subject matter experts. Each semester, the consortium offers eight to 12 events, some of which are specific to manager/supervisor development.
Employees should consult with their manager/supervisor for approval to attend. Registration fees are typically paid through the department's professional development budget. Fees include parking and breakfast, and full-day events also include lunch.
EduRisk by United Educators
EduRisk provides hundreds of resources addressing the most pressing issues for educational institutions, from athletic injuries to sexual assault prevention and response to workplace harassment. The interactive learning programs guide faculty, staff and students in changing behaviors to reduce risk. Online courses, podcasts, blogs and downloadable resources address key areas of higher education, such as administration, employment, student affairs, crisis management and facilities and public safety.
Employees who completed the required training through United Educators will have access to these resources using their login credentials.
Beacon Online University
Salve Regina’s worker's compensation insurer, Beacon Mutual, has partnered with FirstNet Learning to provide policyholders and their employees more than 100 free safety courses on eight different topics. Their most popular courses are also available in Spanish. Courses are highly interactive and participants are able to print certificates of completion.
All employees may take courses through Beacon Online University. To register, visit Beacon Online University and complete the registration form, using 28735 as the Beacon policy number.

Through various available subscriptions, members have access to the Lynda.com video library of more than 5,500 engaging, top-quality courses taught by recognized industry experts. Topics include productivity, communication, management, career development, presentations, leadership, project and time management, collaboration, social media and marketing.
Lynda.com offers a free 10-day trial. Additional subscription costs must be paid by your department’s professional development budget.
