The Arctic Circle is emerging as one of the frontlines for competition among world powers. With the U.S., Russia and China seeking to expand their Arctic footprints to obtain a military advantage and exploit natural resources, the region’s strategic relevance is increasing as part of this quest for global dominance.
This panel discussion featuring Arctic experts and scholars will be moderated by Dr. Sean O'Callaghan, director of the Ph.D. in humanities program, and Dr. Symeon Giannakos, director of the Ph.D. in international relations program, and will be followed by a Q&A.
