Welcome! Next week you will jump into your journey as a Salve Regina student, beginning with our Week of Welcome program, which begins Thursday, Sept. 3 and runs through Tuesday, Sept. 8. During Week of Welcome, you will meet new people, learn about Salve Regina and its campus and prepare for a successful college experience.
As a reminder, participation in Week of Welcome programming is mandatory for all new students, including commuter and transfer students, as the information received during this week is essential to your success at the University. Students who are unable to attend Week of Welcome in person should email Amanda Self to be assigned to a virtual group.

New students will move in Tuesday, Sept. 1 and Wednesday, Sept. 2. Your arrival date and time are available in your MyHousing account. Two family members will be allowed to accompany you during the move-in process. You will be required to wear face coverings and practice social distancing procedures during move-in.
When you arrive on campus, please proceed directly to the parking area adjacent to your residence hall. Upon parking, you will be directed to the Rodgers Recreation Center to receive your student ID and complete your COVID-19 test. You will then head back to your residence hall and check in with Residence Life staff.
Week of Welcome
Week of Welcome will provide you with an educational and enjoyable introduction to life at Salve Regina. There are several signature events included in this week, including the day of service and Convocation. A variety of evening activities will be also be offered, such as bingo, a bonfire and an outdoor movie.
During Week of Welcome, you will be assigned to a "number group" of 20 or fewer students based on your First Year Transitions course. You will stay in this group throughout the week, and will be accompanied by one or two peer mentors and/or an Orientation leader.
You will also be assigned to a larger "color group," which is made up of several number groups. These color groups will provide opportunities to meet classmates outside of your number group and to participate in engaging activities together.
Early next week, you will receive an email from your peer mentor with your group number, color designation and meeting location for Week of Welcome.
You will also receive a copy of the Week of Welcome schedule during check-in.
Health and Safety
Face coverings will be mandatory at all times during Week of Welcome. All necessary precautions will be taken with regard to social distancing – from the number of people in your group to pre-planned meals to virtual presentations from guest speakers. In most cases, you will be placed in a number group with your classmates and peer mentor from your First Year Transitions and University Seminar courses so you can maintain the same "social bubble" in preparation for the year.
All meals will be provided in the Miley dining hall on move-in days and throughout Week of Welcome. In addition, Miley Mart/Starbucks, which is located on the garden level of Miley Hall, will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 5-10 p.m. on move-in days and throughout Week of Welcome.
The bookstore will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for browsing and shopping on your move-in days. However, if you ordered textbooks online and had them shipped to the bookstore, they will not be available for pickup on your move-in day. You will be scheduled to pick up your textbooks on Saturday, Sept. 5 during your lunch or dinner rotation. To order textbooks online or to see regular bookstore hours, visit salveshop.com.
If you have not yet registered for your fall courses, you will receive an email from Hannah Cazzetta, transfer student advisor, to schedule a virtual meeting to complete the registration process. If you studied French, Italian or Spanish in high school, you will also take a web-based exam to determine your language placement. Exams will take place during Week of Welcome and you will receive your assigned date and time via email.
