Aug. 24 - To new students: Move-in and week of welcome reminders
Dear new students,
Next week you will jump into your journey as a Salve Regina student, beginning with our Week of Welcome program, which runs from Thursday, Sept. 2 through Tuesday, Sept. 7. You will meet new people, learn more about Salve and its campus, and prepare for a successful college experience.
We are looking forward to your arrival! Please carefully review the details below and continue to check your Salve Regina email regularly for the latest updates. As a reminder, participation in Week of Welcome programming is mandatory for all new students, including commuter and transfer students, as the information received during this week is essential to your success at the University.
Move-In for New Students
New students will move in Tuesday, Aug. 31 and Wednesday, Sept. 1. Your arrival date and time are available in your My Housing account. You must arrive within your designated time slot, so if you haven’t registered for move-in yet, please do so as soon as possible.
When you arrive on campus, please proceed directly to your assigned residence hall. Upon parking, you will be directed to Rodgers Recreation Center to complete the onboarding process, which includes check-in for WOW. You will then head back to your residence hall and continue the move-in process with Residence Life staff. Families will not be able to proceed with move-in until students have completed the onboarding process.
Two family members from the same household may accompany each student during move-in. A negative COVID-19 test is not required for family members who are assisting with move-in. Given the rise in local transmission rates, individuals will be asked to wear a mask indoors regardless of their vaccination status, consistent with current University policy.

Check-In for Transfer and First Year Students Living off Campus
All new transfer and first year students living off campus will need to come to campus on Tuesday, Aug. 31 or Wednesday, Sept. 1 between 8:00am and 3:30pm to complete the onboarding process prior to participating in the Week of Welcome. Part of the onboarding process will also include check-in for Week of Welcome, as well as the receipt of materials and first day instructions.

Before you move in to your residence hall, you will complete the onboarding process outlined below. Please arrive with all requirements completed. Students with incomplete requirements may be turned away until records are complete.
Verification of immunization records. You will also be notified of any holds on your account.
Verification of a negative COVID-19 test administered within the three days prior to arrival or documentation of a positive COVID-19 test within the past 90 days.
Verification of your vaccination status. You must have either your vaccine record uploaded to the student health portal or an exemption on file.
Ensure that you have signed the Salve Regina University Pledge for the Protection of our Community.
Once all requirements have been verified, you will receive your Salve Regina ID for access to campus buildings, dining locations, etc.
Week of Welcome
Our Week of Welcome program will provide you with an educational and enjoyable introduction to life at Salve Regina. Week of Welcome features signature events such as the day of service and Convocation, along with evening activities like trivia and outdoor laser tag.
During Week of Welcome, you will be assigned to a group of 30 or fewer students. You will stay in this group throughout the week and will be accompanied by an orientation leader. We have identified indoor and outdoor spaces across campus where groups of this size can take part in programming. All activities will be offered in-person.

Our virtual orientation program is designed to help families take the critical next steps in supporting their students’ successful transition to Salve Regina. The program features a panel of University staff, students and alumni parents, along with breakout sessions and quick presentations on topics essential to the transition.

The bookstore will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on your move-in day for browsing and shopping. However, if you ordered textbooks online and had them shipped to the bookstore, they will not be available for pickup on your move-in day. You will be scheduled to pick up your textbooks on Monday, Sept. 6 during your lunch rotation. To order textbooks online or to see regular bookstore hours, visit salveshop.com.
All meals will be provided in the Miley dining hall on move-in days and throughout Week of Welcome. In addition, Miley Mart/Starbucks, which is located on the garden level of Miley Hall, will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 5-10 p.m. on move-in days and throughout Week of Welcome.
