Ochre Lodge

Ochre Lodge, a seaside villa completed in 1883. Designed by renowned local architect Dudley Newton, the structure is an excellent example of the Shingle-style villas built in Newport during the late 19th century.

Commissioned by Julia Eldridge of New York, the structure features balconies, alcoves and verandas in a variety of woods and finishes. Located on Ruggles Avenue, Ochre Lodge was given to Salve Regina in 1966 by Anita O'Keeffe Young, sister of American painter Georgia O'Keeffe.

For the 2014-15 academic year this building will be a living learning community building.
