The Antone Academic Center will physically link two historic and architecturally distinctive carriage houses - Chateau-sur-Mer and Ochre Court.  Joined by an atrium, these two buildings will include specially designed spaces for art, performance arts, and cultural and historic preservation and also multi-use facilities suited to furthering the academic integration critical to a liberal arts education.  Unique studios for painting, ceramics, sculpture and photography, galleries for sharing work with the public, classrooms and lecture halls for all disciplines, facilities for the performance arts, technologically enhanced computer classrooms and laboratories for the cultural and historic preservation program will be created in historic spaces.  The Antone Academic Center will house the faculty in the Departments of Art, Cultural and Historic Preservation, English, History, and Theatre.

In Honor of M. Therese Antone, RSM, President

For her more than 30 of service, including 14 years as president, the new Academic Center for Culture and the Arts will be named in honor of M. Therese Antone, RSM.  A dedicated and tireless leader, she ushered in a new era and strengthened the University’s academic standing, endowment, and community profile.  Her legacy includes a campus that has been preserved, protected, and enhanced.  The Antone Academic Center will be fully ready for use for fall 2008 and will be dedicated September 28, 2008 during Fall Festival Weekend.

Make a Gift

More than $7 million has been raised toward the $7.5 million private fund raising goal in support of this project.  With only a few months left, please consider making a gift.  Naming opportunities are still available throughout the building and all donors of $1,000 will be recognized on a plaque in the main entrance.  For more information, contact Katherine Horoschak at 402.341.2438 or by e-mail at katherine.horoschak@salve.edu.
