At Salve Regina, students have the opportunity to reside in former mansions and other historic buildings situated in one of Newport’s premiere neighborhoods. A residence for sophomore students, Founders Hall is a prime example of this unique living experience. Designed by the famed architectural firm of Peabody & Stearns, Founders Hall was built for John Thompson Spencer, a prominent Philadelphia lawyer. Acquired by Salve Regina in 1964, the structure incorporates formal Georgian details with the informal ambience of a seaside villa.
