NEWPORT, R.I. - The Office of Career Development has announced two fall career fairs taking place next week, both of which are free and open to Salve Regina students and alumni. These events will enable students and alumni to connect directly with dozens of employers who are offering excellent job and internship opportunities.
2-5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, Bryant University
More than 30 government agencies (federal, state and local) and six Boston area museums will be on hand to discuss the wide range of full-time and internship opportunities available across departments and divisions. The Boston museums include the Boston Children's Museum, Institute of Contemporary Art, Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, Museum of Fine Arts, Museum of Science and New England Aquarium.
1-4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6, Boston Tremont Hotel
The event draws more than 45 employers from a variety of industries, nearly all of whom are offering entry level employment and summer internship options. Students can log in to Gateway for a full list of participating companies and positions.
A van transporting students to the event will leave the Rodgers Recreation Center at 11 a.m. Friday. Space is limited and a $10 deposit is required to reserve a seat. Students can register in the "Career Events" section of Gateway or call Ext. 2913.
Students interested in attending one or both of the fairs are invited to attend a workshop, "Making the Most of a Career Fair," from 5:30-6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28 in Antone Center 221. The workshop will cover what students can expect at the fairs, discuss the art of networking and review strategies to help students quickly impress employers.
