Student Employment
Program and Guidelines
The student employment program, whether through federal work-study funds or Salve Regina employment, is available to all students as part of the self-help component of the financial aid package. The student employment program is a wonderful way to assist students with personal expenses, while providing leadership and employment skills.
To apply for student employment:
- Complete tutorial Student Employment 101.
- Student employment information is available online.
- If you are hired (or rehired) go to Career Development. There may be additional paperwork that needs to be completed before you are added to payroll.
- A financial aid award is a potential to earn and does not guarantee you a job, but we will do all we can to help you find a job on or off campus.
- Jobs in the program pay the current Rhode Island minimum wage.
- Timesheets will be forwarded to supervisors by the payroll office and are due every two weeks in the payroll office according to the posted schedule. Paychecks will be available on scheduled dates. Copies of schedules are available.
- Direct deposit is strongly recommended. Please ask for more information.
- In the event you do not obtain a job, please let us know and we will place your name on a waiting list.
If you have questions, please call (401) 341-2913 or stop by the Office of Career Development, located in the Miley Hall garden level.
