Khalil Habib presents lecture on Islam at UMaine

NEWPORT, R.I. – Khalil Habib, assistant professor of philosophy at Salve Regina University, will present a lecture at the University of Maine as part of its Western Civilization and American Liberty Program.
 
Habib will give a talk entitled “Can Islam Co-exist with Western Civilization?” on Friday, Feb. 19 at 3 p.m. in UMaine’s Bennett Hall. His presentation is free and open to the public.
 
Habib has his B.A. from the University of Maine, his M.A. from the University of Toronto and his Ph.D. from Boston University.
 
Last summer, he was the keynote speaker, presenting "Islam and the West" at the University of Louisville’s Young Leaders Academy.
